The Worst Day Working…….

I have this alter ego that actually has to work every day at his business. It’s not golf, too bad because my alter ego’s passion is golf. But my alter ego, AE for short does play golf about 3 – 4 times a week. AE gets a little testy because that other stuff in his life gets in the way of golf.

We only have a short golf season here in Colorado, about 8 months. I know many a die-hard play all year here, but AE’s body just can’t take walking around in 20 degree weather hitting a golf ball that feels like concrete. So 8 months is what we try to get in.

AE’s primary source of income is a Consumer Direct Marketing business (sometimes, erroneously referred to as network marketing) which is another of his passions. It took me, a normal, conservative, middle America golfer to finally get my head wrapped around this Consumer Direct Marketing stuff. After a little research, it turns out that it really pretty cool.

Donald Trump does it, Warren Buffet does it, Donnie Osmond does it, Tom Peters author of “In Search of Excellence” says more millionaires will be made in network marketing than any other business sector this decade. AE says it is one of several revenue strings or passive income strings we all need to become financially free.

He works his business everywhere he goes. Golf course, Starbucks, seminars, meetings, grocery stores and online. He makes phone calls to all of his business associates and prospects, never just an email hoping to get a response. He is passionate about helping others build a lifetime of recession proof income that is inheritable by his children and grand children.

This type of business allows him to play golf (his passion) at least 3 times a week and sometimes more. That doesn’t count his practice days. Which is everyday. He has a forty yard pitching area in his backyard and a living room carpet that putts at an 11 on the stimp meter. So there must be something to this networking , oops, consumer direct marketing business.

It also represents the most successful “Green” company in the industry. Almost a billion dollars in revenue last year and debt free. When people say “oh that’s a pyramid” he just laughs.

Social Media or Strong Business Base ?

Lets face it, everyone thinks they need a great Twitter and Facebook page, they think that a lot of followers equals success. Right? Well if all you are doing is collecting friends and followers, Right! If you really want to build a business, wrong.

If you don’t have a solid foundation for your business, you haven’t got a business. Think about it, do you buy from people just because they have 20,000 followers and 10,000 fans? Or do you buy from them because they have a solid business, a message that tells you what they do and why they do it. Did they build trust with you or did you just order because the squeeze page popped up and told you this page would never be shown again.

Sure it adds to their credibility with a lot of fans, but whats their message?

Whats your message. Does your web page grab them, does your copy writing sell? Your copy is number one. Don’t skimp on it, write it, re-write it and test it. Have others read it and take their opinion to heart. If it’s bad, throw it out! Lose the ego. Is it about how you feel about your writing abilities or how your prospective customers or clients feel about it?

If you can’t write, hire someone to do it for you. Copy is King!

Quick Tips

Starting a home based business is really easy and simple. Getting it to grow is the tough part. It doesn’t matter if you have an Internet Marketing company, MLM, Direct sales or some other form of small business that you run from your home. The basics are the same.

Once you have the right company, are you on the right team? Do you have a strong and committed group to work with? If not, find one. Having a supportive team is vital to your success.

How are you finding new customers or leads? Marketing is the life blood of your business, if your not focused on marketing, your not focused. What is your conversion rate? Is your message doing its job?

Sales. The close. What is your closing rate? Hard sell, soft sell, are they buying a product, service or you? Make sure you know and that your message reflects it.

Follow up. Okay you closed the deal, now what? Follow up e-mail? Text? Phone call? 48 hours is the critical time frame, don’t leave them hanging especially if they have to wait for their order to arrive.

Like I said, Easy.

Wait a minute, did I forget, accounting, banking, legal, joint venture agreements, licensing, taxes, etc… There is a lot more to it than most people will tell you. Don’t get discouraged there is help out there.

You can carry this out in 30 days, with a part-time effort.  Do it again in your 2nd, 3rd and 4th months and your first 5 will now earn an income based on 3124 families purchasing great products. Much of that income would be residual. Coming in month after month after month.

Simple math suggests that the help you can give others is exponential!  If you help 5 help 5,  that’s 25.  Help them help 5 and you have 125.  Get them to see and understand that they need 5, help them get 5 and your at 625.  Repeat that again by 5 and that’s 3,125.  Add them together and you get 3906 people on the road to financial freedom.  Do that for 4 months and you have 15,624 in your business.  A business where helping others get ahead is primary over you getting ahead, where you don’t get fully rewarded until you have helped 20 people directly and helped them help others. 

Accomplish this as fast as you want, but helping 5 people a month gets everyone on the road to freedom in 4 months. The best part is everyone enrolled right on down the line starts earning as soon as they help someone switch stores, shop on-line, get paid for referrals.

Pre-Polluted Babies! The EWG Finds Poisons in Umbilical Cords

The Environmental Working Group http://ewg.org   Has found  nearly 300 chemicals in the core blood of the umbilical cords of newborn babies. While  A “pre-polluted baby” might sound like science fiction, it is exactly what EWG has discovered when they did research into the umbilical cord blood of ten Americans.

Dr. Manny Alvarez pooh poohs dangerous ingredients in baby products, says industry is well-regulated and we should trust the Federal government.

We say that any amount of carcinogenic chemicals especially formaldehyde should not be something we put on our children. He also points out that trace amounts of the cancer causing chemicals are in a number of things we handle daily; our question to Dr. Manny is: at what point do these cancer causing trace amounts add up to something that makes us sick. He says we don’t have enough data yet. What should we do, wait until the cancer rate is 100% instead of the 50% it is now? Wake up Manny and smell the crap you are feeding yourself and America!
